The star was chosen as a symbol for the hope we have that Christ was born and restored the relationship between man and God. Gold was chosen as the color for the star due to the inheritance, that is undefiled and unfading, kept in heaven by God’s power. It is a priceless inheritance (1 Peter 1). Though trials come in this life, in them, the genuineness of your faith, which is more precious than gold, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ on the last day. This is the hope we have in the work of Christ. At the top, the Greek word “elpis” is defined as “hope, expectation of what is sure or certain, confidence-the assurance of something to be fulfilled”. We look forward to the ultimate restoration of creation and eternal fellowship with God. This was written in red due to the work of the blood of Christ on the cross that makes this a reality for us. In white, the border around the star contains verses from Genesis to Revelation referring to the hope we have in Christ. When trials come, it is scripture and our hope we must hold on to. I wanted to include scripture from both the old and New Testament since this was God’s plan since before the creation of the world. This is written in white as a symbol of its purity as God breathed a word that is undefiled, unchanging. Listen to a curated playlist for this piece: Hope in Stress on Spotify
